Underground Mapping Innovation: PelicanCorp Unveils the Future of Infrastructure Safety
Bridging the Gap Between Data and Reality Through the Power of Live Digital Twins at the Great Lakes Damage Prevention Conference
IRVINE, CA – 2 February 2026 – PelicanCorp, a global leader in underground infrastructure protection technology, announced its participation in the inaugural Great Lakes Damage Prevention Conference & Expo. Hosted by MISS DIG 811, the event will take place from February 2–4, 2026, at the Lansing Conference Center. PelicanCorp will be exhibiting at Booth #402, showcasing how Digital Twin technology brings unprecedented accuracy to underground mapping.
As a landmark regional event, the Great Lakes Damage Prevention Conference expands MISS DIG 811’s educational mission into a premier multi-day forum. It unites utility owners, excavators, locators, and regulators to collaborate on innovation and industry best practices.
As a highlight of the educational program, PelicanCorp CEO Duane Rodgers will join Nick Bonstell, President & CEO of MISS DIG 811, for a high-impact speaking session titled: “Mapping the Future with Live Digital Twins – Is Your Digital Twin Telling the Truth?”
Every year, the U.S. loses over $60 billion to underground utility damage. Most of those strikes stem from a single problem: outdated, static records. It’s time to move beyond "as-built" and start talking about "as-dug." This session addresses how legacy, static mapping often leads to guesswork, endangering worker safety and disrupting essential community services.
"Traditional utility records are no longer sufficient to protect our modern infrastructure," said Duane Rodgers, CEO of PelicanCorp. "We are excited to share how live, connected Digital Twins move the industry beyond guesswork. By bridging the gap between outdated paperwork and real-world conditions, we can empower crews to dig with confidence and significantly reduce avoidable harm."
The presentation will contrast legacy practices with modern deployments, providing a practical framework for organizations to assess their own data maturity. Participants will learn how to transition to real-time “as-dug” Digital Twins, identifying cost-effective pathways to adoption that enhance both safety and operational efficiency.
The session will include insights into MISS DIG 811’s groundbreaking Digital Twin pilot program, a real-world case study, highlighting how municipalities are already deploying Digital Twins to achieve safer, faster, and more cost-effective locates. Attendees will leave with practical playbooks, case study lessons, and exclusive adoption incentives to launch or scale Digital Twin initiatives.
“This session is about more than technology; it’s about saving lives,” added Rodgers. “Every utility strike is a risk to the public and the workforce. Our goal is to inspire attendees to ask if their current systems truly reflect reality and to provide them with the playbooks necessary to launch their own digital twin initiatives.”
Visitors to Booth #402 can experience live demonstrations of PelicanCorp’s technology suite and discuss how Digital Twin integration can streamline the excavation process while ensuring crews dig with confidence, utilities protect their assets, and municipalities safeguard their communities.
